Western Horizons Working Dog Club operates as a non-profit, multidisciplinary group of dog enthusiasts located in the high desert of Southern California. We are a full member club of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America, Southwest Region founded in 2010. Although our primary focus is IGP/Schutzhund, we welcome anyone involved in one of the many dog sports such as agility, rally obedience, fly ball, ring sport, tracking or herding to join us. We promote motivational, humane training methods in a supportive, drama-free atmosphere. WHWDC offers a permanent, fully fenced, groomed dirt training field and a dedicated plowed dirt tracking field.
Our current members have accumulated over 40 years of experience in training and competing in Schutzhund, agility, obedience, herding, man-trailing, tracking, K9 Nose Work, and conformation shows. Our training and trial helper is classified with the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. For more information please visit our member gallery
We meet weekly to practice tracking, obedience and/or protection. WHWDC strives to make the training progression enjoyable for ourselves and our dogs in order to achieve the goals and reach the maximum potential as competitors and responsible dog owners. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or just starting out, we look forward to your visit.
